The CarolinaCard office is seeking an Accountant to join its fiscal team and forward moving office. This position will provide administrative, accounts payable and billing services along with other accounting duties for responsible departments within DAF Business Affairs and CarolinaCard offices.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and no prior work experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and two (2) years professional accounting experience.Experience with Banner, PeopleSoft and CBORD strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of principles, practices, theories, and terminology of accounting, auditing, banking, budgeting, and financial management, as well as knowledge of office practices, and procedures. Ability to proficiently apply mathematical concepts, analyze and interpret related data. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and with written documents. Must have strong computer skills, to include using EXCEL, ACCESS, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Visio.

Assists as needed to cover front office operations, including interacting with customers, answering phones and performing transactions.

Processes all billing and accounts payable for responsible areas/department within Business Affairs (CarolinaCard Office, Postal & Passport Services, Dining Services, Catering, Bookstore, Vending, ATMs and Event Management); process PO's, TA's, GL and Banner Mass Uploads; and works in conjunction with the Bursar's Office in managing student accounts in Banner.

Responds to internal and external requests for information and data; prepares a multitude of scheduled and ad hoc reports of financial analyses using standard or specialized report formats (as needed); maintains familiarity with and responds to prospective and actual changes in University-wide accounting standards and practices.

Prepares and reviews estimates of revenues and expenditures for the department(s); and continually monitors expenditures and revenues to ensure budget compliance and achievement of goals.
