Overview

The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Indianapolis seeks an experienced Accountant to join its business office team and maintain the financial and accounting records of the Center.Responsibilities will include: accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), payroll, general ledger (GL), financial reporting, daily retail sales and cash reconciliations, budgeting, sales tax reporting, staff supervision and other related tasks to support the overall business management of the Center.

Responsibilities

  • Minimum requirement is a 2 year (A.S.) accounting degree plus accounting work experience. Applicants with Bachelors degree plus work experience in accounting are preferred.

  • Skills in Microsoft Office (Word , Excel) required.

  • Previous experience with accounting software desired.

  • Flexible and able to multi task.

  • Background check and clear drug screening results required. Valid drivers license and own transportation.

  • Must be able to support the mission of The Salvation Army.

The position is responsible for a varity of important and complex functions by coordinating the flow of documents, information and approvals. Responsible for data entry in Encompass Time & Labor and work closely with Agency staff and Auditor of State. A day in the life: * This position is responsible for processing the agency's payroll on a bi-weekly basis and also serves as a backup for accounts payable. Additional duties may be required as needs arise. * Process and audit all payroll paperwork for new hires, transfers, terminations, etc. and send it to the Auditor of State's office * Monitor the ISDH Payroll email box on a daily basis. Work in a highly professional manner with program staff by responding to questions and issues. What we are looking for: * Five (5) years work experience in accounting; auditing; or accredited college training in a related field. * MUST have State of Indiana payroll experience, to be considered for this opportunity.
