Serves as an auditor of financial and statistical reports for nursing homes (nursing home cost reports), and report preparation for internal and external parties, Auditor for contract monitoring. Participates in district office financial clerk reviews.

Participates in cost reporting receipt, tracking, and reporting. Participates in Ad Hoc projects assigned to office of accountability and management reporting. Participates (under supervision) in calculation of rate adjustments resulting from findings of nursing home cost report audits.

Knowledge of WV Medicaid provider manuals, rules and regulations: Rate setting methodologies utilized by WVDHHR; provider industry developments and standards; and other rules and regulations applicable to job functions.

Selected candidates who agree to work for a minimum of twelve (12) months may be eligible to receive a $5,000 appointment incentive. This incentive does not apply to current employees of the State of WV.

Training: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with at least 24 semester hours in accounting.

AND

Experience: Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in professional accounting, statutory accounting or auditing work.

OR

Substitutions: (1) Master's degree in accounting may substitute for the required experience. (2) Certification or registration as a Public Accountant in West Virginia may be substituted for the training and required experience.
