Summary

The Accountant will oversee several accounting tasks to ensure the timely submission of the monthly financial reports to meet Young Living's growth and demands of the international markets.

Essential Functions

• Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations while resolving discrepancies between the following: Inventory Transfers/Commercial Invoices, Management fees, Commissions, Compensation, Credit cards, FX impact, Payments and other items

• Assisting with preparation of monthly financial packages and rolling the financial files each month

• Preparing and recording journal entries in the JD Edwards accounting software

• Gathering FX rates for all the international markets financial reporting needs

• Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

• Off-load routine functions from the International Accounting Manager as needed

• Support international markets with basic accounting questions and inquiries.

• Play a part in a variety of department and company-wide initiatives

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Working knowledge with Microsoft products, mainly Excel and other applicable accounting experience and/or training.

• Ability to research and apply international accounting principles

• Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

• Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

• Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

• Ability to speak, read, and write a foreign language is a plus

• Ability to tolerate essential oils worn and diffused

• Understanding of US GAAP accounting and chart of accounts

• Experience in direct-selling industry preferred

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience in using JD Edwards accounting software preferred

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not supervise employees.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools, and controls and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file, and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The regular schedule is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting or other finance degree or equivalent field. 1-3 years of related experience and/or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
