Yext is seeking a Accountant to join its growing and dynamic accounting team. This is a hands-on position with a mix of accounting and operational duties. This role will be responsible for assisting in the day to day transaction processing and accounting, preparing account reconciliations in connection with the close process, and performing financial analysis on an as-needed basis.


  • Participate in various accounting functions to include; preparing reconciliations and roll forwards, account analysis and processing month end journal entries for a variety of G/L accounts

  • Assist in reconciliations between subledger and G/L.

  • Participate in intercompany transactions, ensuring proper recording, reconciliation, and settlement of balances.

  • Support and assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

  • Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure all financial transactions are executed according to GAAP principles

  • Design and implement internal controls

  • Work with independent auditors to provide support for audited financial statements

  • Manipulate and reconcile large volumes of data in Excel from various internal systems and the general ledger

  • Assist in external financial reporting processes

  • Provide ad-hoc analysis to the team when requested

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related field or similar college level education

  • 2+ years experience in accounting

  • Working understanding of GAAP

  • Ability to manipulate and manage large amounts of data

  • Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions

  • Collaborative style with the ability to communicate clearly and precisely on technical and operational issues

  • Must be detail and results-oriented with an ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced, and constantly evolving environment

  • Ability to evaluate priorities and multi-task accordingly while keeping others apprised of status with respect to deadlines

  • Excellent written and formal presentation skills

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Preferred Requirements

  • Big 4 public accounting or public/private company corporate accounting experience;
  • CPA or working towards completing a CPA

Familiarity with Netsuite, Looker, or Salesforce

In this role, you will gain exposure to all departments across the company, and help the Finance team achieve its monthly, quarterly and annual objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES * Execute daily and monthly functions to ensure an accurate, modular and timely close of the books for internal review as well as the Company's monthly and quarterly reporting requirements * This position will focus on accounting for employee related expenses, including payroll, travel & entertainment, reimbursements, corporate AMEX, and equity grants across all entities * Perform financial statement analysis and document insightful and meaningful explanations for fluctuations * Work proactively on payroll related projects such as automation, continuous process improvement, etc. * Assist in the improvement of accounting business processes to improve productivity and create operating efficiencies across the company * Assist in the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures that are in compliance with applicable internal control guidance * Assist in the accumulation of support for the Company's annual audit and quarterly reviews QUALIFICATIONS * At least 4-6 years of experience in general accounting functions, including stock-based compensation, payroll, bank reconciliations, accrued expenses and the monthly close process * Strong analytical and creative problem solving abilities * Experience with Netsuite General Ledger, Coupa PO system, and/or Blackline a huge plus * Proven ability to communicate well within a team environment, as well as with other departments across the organization * Strong personal integrity and work ethic * Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA a plus About Squarespace Squarespace makes beautiful products to help people with creative ideas succeed.
