Position Summary

Under the direction of CFO and the Assistant Director, act as an Accountant for the School of Theater, Film and Television. The incumbent is responsible for managing and facilitating the purchasing, and tracking of non-payroll expenditures across a variety of fund sources including General Funds, Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition (PDST), Summer Session, Gifts/Endowments, and Sales and Service.

Additionally, process Accounts Receivable transactions for Sales and Service funds including external payments and internal recharges. Exercise discretion, organizational abilities, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills in carrying out responsibilities. Act as a resource to assist CFO, assistant dean, chairs, faculty, and staff. Act as back-up in the absence of other Business Office staff.

Salary & Compensation

  • UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.

Qualifications

Four years of experience in purchasing. UC experience is preferred (Preferred) Working knowledge of University accounting systems, policies, and procedures (Preferred) Demonstrated ability to reconcile financial ledgers and initiate corrections (Required) Skill in performing mathematical calculations with or without a calculator. Skill in operating a 10-key adding machine (Required) Working knowledge of UCLA's Travel Express System (Preferred) Demonstrated skills on working with a PC's on programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and for data entry. (Required) Working knowledge of UCLA's purchasing and equipment policies and procedures (Preferred) Oral and written communications skills to obtain clearly, accurately and grammatically correct information (Required) Knowledge of University of California Travel, Reimbursement, and business policies and procedures relevant to above job description (Preferred) Demonstrated skill in using the campus purchasing system (Briun-Buy, Purchasing and Accounts Payable (PAC)) to acquire goods, services and equipment and to track orders. (Preferred) Ability to follow through assignments with limited supervision and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines. (Required) Demonstrated ability to work well with others. Interpersonal skills to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, staff, faculty, supervisors, outside vendors/organizations. (Required) Ability to work in fast pasted environment, with many distractions, in a collegial manner. (Required) Ability to provide excellent customer service - to anticipate potential problems and take preventative action - to interact effectively and maintain composure when confronted by difficult situations. (Required)

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training (Required)
