The Position

Accountant Technicians perform technical accounts maintenance work for agencies with complex accounting functions or systems. Factors that contribute to complexity include, but are not limited to, federal grant reporting, external bank accounts, cost allocation plans, budget accounts, bank guidelines other than those contained in the State Administrative Manual, enterprise accounting, complex fund accounting, and external reporting requirements.

This position will be working under the general direction of the Management Analyst 2, and will maintain a system of accounting/control for unclaimed securities, review and process holder reports, communicate and correspond with holders and the securities custodian on various matters, banking duties and reconciliation, perform customer service and claims review tasks, perform various fiscal and financial tasks in support of Unclaimed Property Division and ensure compliance with NRS 120A and NAC 120A and other applicable statutes. * THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications) Graduation from high school supplemented by 6 college credits in beginning accounting and two years of financial records maintenance experience which includes such duties as controlling accounts payable/receivable; preparing financial reports for internal management use; and reconciling complex accounts; OR two years of experience as an Accounting Assistant III in Nevada State service which includes 6 college credits in beginning accounting; OR one year as an Accounting Assistant IV in Nevada State service which includes 6 college credits in beginning accounting; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above which must have included 6 college credits in beginning accounting. Special Requirements A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items. This recruitment is for Developmental Support Technician I vacancies working either a swing shift or working the graveyard shift within the Aging and Disability Services Division (ADSD) of the Department of Health and Human Services - Desert Regional Center, and is located in Las Vegas, NV. Under the direction of a Developmental Support Technician IV, incumbents perform in a trainee capacity to acquire the knowledge, skills and ability required in this occupation. Work is closely reviewed and monitored and extensive on-the-job training is provided to ensure standards of care are met. Incumbent must obtain and maintain technician certification, CPR and a valid State of Nevada Driver's License. Incumbent will provide direct care to dual diagnosed individuals who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and related conditions; such as, Autism, Seizure Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, etc. in a 24-hour residential facility. Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred. Incumbent will be required to work a swing shift or graveyard, weekends, and holidays.
