In coordination with the other accounting staff, provides accurate and timely analysis resulting from account reconciliations and leading to financial transactions. The position works closely with accounting staff to maintain adequate support, identify and correct errors, and ensure that internal controls are adhered to.
Perform reconciliation of G/L accounts on a monthly basis prior to the close.
Prepare and enter journal entries in the Company's ERP system.
Perform bank reconciliations.
Review data to ensure that proper procedures are being followed.
Maintain accurate records to support system transactions.
Update accounts receivable and perform reconciliations.
Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements.
Assist accounting staff in the preparation of monthly, and annual closings.
Assist with other accounting projects.
Interface with external auditors to support the financial audit.
Perform financial analysis and research on a continuing basis.
Assist in the analysis and interpretation of financial and accounting information in order to communicate monthly operating results, profitability, performance against budget and financial trends.
Develop and implement process improvements.
Collaborate across all levels of the organization to ensure compliance with Company and accounting policies and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications
Associates Degree with at least two years experience or Bachelors Degree with limited experience.
Proficient accounting experience with account analysis/reconciliation and variance analysis.
Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and applications.
Proficient in MS Office; advanced Excel skills.
Experience with computer automated business application systems.
Experience in project accounting will be a plus
Great attention to detail.
Ability to work well and productively in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Ability to work the hours necessary to accomplish goals.
