About The Opportunity
Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
Essential to this Position
Responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to prepare journal entries and to maintain balance sheet schedules, ledgers and account reconciliations. Provide financial data analyses, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.
Primary Dutiesand Responsibilities:
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) policies and procedures
Prepare monthly adjusting and recurring journal entries
Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements and various detailed analyses
Prepare financial management reports ensuring integrity of data
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met
Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Prepare for internal and external financial audits and assist in the coordination of the audit process
Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and key performance indicators
Evaluate systems and procedures for process improvements
Assist with the integration of acquisitions into our financial processes and systems
Support budget and forecast process activities
Other duties as may be assigned
Essentials to Success:
Bachelors degree in Accounting
Willing to consider strong internships in public accounting in additionto 2 years of professional experience
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Previous experience working in public accounting
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and processes
Knowledge of financial reporting
Knowledge of auditing practices and principles
Technical accounting skills
Proficiency in relevant accounting software preferred (SAP, Hyperion (HFM), Microsoft Office Suite)
