About The Opportunity

Position Summary

Prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Responsibilities also include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.

Essential to this Position

Position Summary:

Responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to prepare journal entries and to maintain balance sheet schedules, ledgers and account reconciliations. Provide financial data analyses, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures.

Primary Dutiesand Responsibilities:

  • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) policies and procedures

  • Prepare monthly adjusting and recurring journal entries

  • Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts

  • Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements and various detailed analyses

  • Prepare financial management reports ensuring integrity of data

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year-end close processes ensuring all financial reporting deadlines are met

  • Establish and monitor the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Prepare for internal and external financial audits and assist in the coordination of the audit process

  • Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses

  • Evaluate and advise on business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and key performance indicators

  • Evaluate systems and procedures for process improvements

  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions into our financial processes and systems

  • Support budget and forecast process activities

  • Other duties as may be assigned

Essentials to Success:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting

  • Willing to consider strong internships in public accounting in additionto 2 years of professional experience

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • Previous experience working in public accounting

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and processes

  • Knowledge of financial reporting

  • Knowledge of auditing practices and principles

  • Technical accounting skills

  • Proficiency in relevant accounting software preferred (SAP, Hyperion (HFM), Microsoft Office Suite)

Purpose: To lead the execution of the financial processes and deliverables of the site. Ensures that site financial and operational objectives are met, financial results for the site are accurately reported and corporate policies and procedures are followed. Develops plans and procedures to reduce site exposure to financial risk. Key Job Accountabilities: * Develop financial analysis tools to assist in management decisions and educate other site functions in their role toward accomplishing site financial objectives. * Review key site general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial statement reporting. Have thorough understanding of all key general ledger account activities and balances, with knowledge of implications and drivers. * Prepare monthly site Sales and Financial Forecast and annual site Sales and Financial Plan and proactively lead activities toward accomplishment of Plan. * Supervise, mentor and develop site accounting and finance personnel, including annual performance reviews, assuring adequate staffing levels and providing appropriate resources to support the performance of the team. * Implement and maintain site financial control systems. * Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential. Additional Accountabilities: * Maintain site cash management of receipts and disbursements to allow for maximum cash flow. * Monitor material and labor variances and take appropriate action to avoid corporate margin erosion. * Represent site interests in dealing with Customer Management group to ensure that adequate pricing agreements are in place, and are enforced, to ensure program profitability. * Maintain credit management over site customer accounts to prevent bad debt write-offs. * Perform monthly review and analysis of site balance sheet accounts and reconciliations. * Understand the contents of the manufacturing agreements in place. Use this knowledge to help mitigate financial risk to Plexus by working with Site Materials Manager to minimize inventory exposure. * Ensure controls and processes are in place to capture and recover all extraordinary costs. * Review and approve site Cap X justifications. * Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated <5%).</li> * Additional duties as assigned.
