  • High school diploma or equivalent * Competent in Microsoft Office * Must successfully pass state competency test for Accountant and Secretary. * Ability to pass a criminal background check.* IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Principal* RESPONSIBILITIES:* Completes all reports and maintaining records as assigned by Principal. * Maintains confidentiality, unquestionable integrity. * Maintains positive work habits and positive attitude toward staff and students. * Maintains and/or upgrades skills as needed to perform job responsibilities. * Enters student data into WVEIS as it relates to student schedules and all student records. * Prepares/supervises periodic reports of a statistical, accounting, or financial nature as required within the district and for outside organizations. * Maintain accounting records and to be responsible for the accounting process associated with billing, budgets, purchasing and related operations. * Ability to produce reports or process purchase orders using the county accounting system. * Effectively performs detailed work involving written or numerical data, posts data, and makes mathematical computations rapidly and accurately. uses independent judgement and interpretive abilities and identifies problems which require supervisor's attention. * Keeps administrator(s) informed of all aspects of building/program requirements. * Designs forms as needed. * Inspects, verifies, and processes documents, such as requisitions, invoices, and checks. * Files materials, maintains classified or confidential files, transfers records to inactive files, and maintains incoming and outgoing correspondence. * Places and receives phone calls. * Composes, types, and processes correspondence. * Advises cooks of the appropriate number of persons eating. * Utilizes computerized point of service program to fulfill reporting requirements of school lunch program. * Demonstrates behavior that reflects established professional responsibilities (*i.e. attendance, punctuality, professional dress, and verbal/nonverbal communication)* Prepares accurate county, state, and federal reports from raw data. * Greets visitors, answer phones, responds to inquiries, and accurately routes messages. * Develops a positive relationship with students, staff, and community. * Maintains and/or upgrade skills. * Performs other tasks as required and assigned by immediate supervisor.* PERFORMANCE STANDARDS: The following performance standards and indicators further define the job responsibilities of a secretary: * Work Habits: * Is regular in attendance. * Observes assigned work hours. * Prompt in meeting assignment deadlines. * Complies with Pendleton County School policies governing employment. * Regularly observes established safety procedures. * Regularly stores supplies/equipment in an orderly and safe manner. * Maintains a clean and orderly work area. * Promptly reports the need for equipment repair to supervisor. * Keeps supervisor(s) aware of scheduled appointments and meetings. * Performance: * Demonstrates a knowledge of board policies and administrative procedures as they relate to his/her assignment and that of the person that he/she is assigned. * Demonstrates the ability to plan and prioritize his/her daily activities. * Is thorough in completing assign tasks as demonstrated by attending to details accurately and efficiently. * Is efficient in receiving and routing communications. * Is economical in the use of school/county supplies. * Respects the confidentiality of student/school/office information. * Develops a positive relationship with students/parents/public. * Is effective in the management of financial matters; such as, budget allocations, recording expenditures, maintaining balance for each account, reconciliation of check statements, etc. * Demonstrates the ability to follow direction. * Performs assigned duties efficiently without close supervision. * Works cooperatively with other staff members. * Anticipates jb responsibilities that need to be performed. * Training and Experience:* ?Demonstrates effective use of procedures related to secretarial duties. * Participates in job-related training programs. * Reads current articles related to job assignment. * Personal Qualities:* ?Demonstrates the ability to work with others in a positive and productive way. * Exhibits enthusiasm for the position assigned. * Accepts responsibility for the work assigned. * Possesses physical/emotional health necessary for effective job performance. * Is receptive to using current methods/procedures related to secretarial duties. * Maintains appropriate appearance and persona hygiene. * Accepts constructive criticism.
