Clearway is looking for a Fixed Assets Accounting Specialist. This position will be responsible for performing the accounting, processing, and analysis of fixed assets. They will perform fixed asset accounting functions necessary to achieve an accurate and timely general ledger month end close of Clearway Energy Inc and Clearway Energy Group LLC. Duties will include calculation of monthly depreciation, capitalization of CIP projects and retirements; preparation of necessary journal entries and posting thereof in the accounting system.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reconcile fixed assets accounts to general ledger on monthly basis.

  • Prepare entity level and consolidated fixed assets roll-forwards

  • Assist corporate tax group in compliance with tax laws by providing calculations for tax depreciation, tax basis in assets retired and additions.

  • Coordinate preparation of annual property tax filings with the property tax group.

  • Responsible for processing of interest capitalization under ASC 835-20

  • Responsible for recording Asset Retirement Obligations and associated accretion in accordance with ASC 410 and FIN 47.

  • Prepare depreciation forecast for the companies.

  • Preparation of monthly/quarterly fixed assets schedule for the company in accordance with GAAP and company fixed assets policy. Review and follow up on unusual activity.

  • Provide support on technical accounting issues.

  • Provide assistance with special projects as necessary.


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting. Three to five years of experience in general accounting and finance. Experience in fixed asset accounting would be a plus.

  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to identify areas for process improvements.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customers.

  • Ability to work independently in team oriented culture.

  • Experience in a fast paced environment and the ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Experience with SAP, HFM and Microsoft Office applications preferred.

  • Experience with Power Plant software would be a plus.
