The Accountant II performs accounting functions in all areas of the Accounting Department including general ledger, cost accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The Accountant II provides support to the Controller in managing the financial transactions of the company and assists all levels of the company staff regarding financial information including senior managers of the company. Essential Job Functions:
Assists with the preparation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting including income statements, balance sheets, trial balances and annual budgets and forecasts.
Maintains fixed asset ledger and determines depreciation rates to apply to capital assets. Conducts audits of Fixed Assets to ensure minimum control standards are being met.
Assists as needed in the annual external audit by providing information and supporting documentation.
Performs journal entry input at month end ensuring accounts are posted correctly and balanced. Performs other month end responsibilities as assigned.
Analyzes and reports on monthly and year-to-date results in order to enable management to achieve an understanding of causes and possible solutions to those results.
Responsible for all Sales and Use Tax duties including Use Tax Accruals, tax return data preparation, liaison with outside tax filer, GL reconciliation and audit support.
Performs Accounts Payable processing for invoices and packing slips. Assists with Supplier issues as needed.
Perform Accounts Receivable processing and collections as needed.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
A minimum of three years' experience in Accounting/Finance field.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Must have working knowledge of an ERP system. Should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Fixed Asset software, Internet software, and order processing systems.
Experience in AS400 environment preferred.
The successful candidate must possess good verbal and written communications skills and be able to function as part of multiple teams in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment. Must be highly organized and comfortable working with tight deadlines.

Position will have interaction with internal contacts in Operations, Materials, Engineering, Purchasing, and Sales. In addition to industry-leading fryers, the Welbilt Foodservice Shreveport, Louisiana operation (Frymaster) manufactures commercial fryer filtration equipment (built-in and portable), foodservice equipment computers, water-bath rethermalizers and pasta cookers. The facility in Shreveport is a division of Welbilt Foodservice, Inc.
