Accountant II

What You'll Do:

• Review and analyze monthly freight costs to ensure the general ledger is accurate and that appropriate accruals are recorded

• Prepare monthly and quarterly balance sheet account reconciliations

• Prepare monthly and quarterly reporting packages for management, including variance analysis and explanations

• Assist management in preparing schedules and providing support for quarterly and annual internal and external audit requests

• Develop, implement, and maintain financial systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines and compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley

• Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff; respond to financial questions and/or concerns to meet business needs.

• Assist with periodic freight/transportation projects

• Perform various month-end close accounting duties related to private fleet, common carrier, dedicated carrier and rail

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting

• Knowledgeable of US GAAP

• Two or more years of accounting experience

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Strong verbal and written skills

• Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines

• Flexibility to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment

• Microsoft Office with strong skills in Excel such as pivot tables and advanced formulas

• Proficiency with SAP is preferred
