Job Description

The Accountant II will be responsible for Crude Marketing Accounting activities as part of the existing Crude Marketing accounting team.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly written confirmations, along with invoicing and net out processes in the high-visibility monthly crude settlement process.

  • Actively and professionally communicate with counterparties and schedulers to support this time-sensitive activity and help to resolve any differences.

  • Participate in the accurate payment and management of secondary cost invoices associated with the crude marketing business.

  • Prepare monthly inventory reconciliations by location, work closely and effectively with schedulers.

  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations, as required.

  • Prepare miscellaneous journal entries as needed to resolve issues.

  • Respond with timeliness and professionalism to requests from both internal and external auditors.

  • Obtain cross training and knowledge from existing Crude Marketing accountants to allow a full understanding of crude marketing activities; serve as backup when needed on various processes.

  • Actively participate in reengineering and process redesign to improve accuracy and gain efficiencies when needed improvements are identified.

  • Maintain compliance with SOX requirements.

  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned by manager.

  • Regular attendance at the worksite is required.

  • Must be committed to working safely at all times.

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.

  • CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.

  • 3 to 5 years of Oil and Gas accounting experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Right Angle Software is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.

Travel:

Some travel required.
