The Accountant II under limited supervision of the Assistant Controller performs the duties and responsibilities mentioned below efficiently, effectively on a timely basis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Other duties may be assigned.
Participates in the monthly close process by analyzing various accounts/entities, which includes Monitoring activity for the month, and preparing monthly explanations of variances.
Responsible within assigned area for analysis, accounting, and reconciliation of Property, Plant, Equipment, and various Construction in Progress Accounts.
Closes out projects to the Fixed Asset System.
Prepares tangible tax returns for all entities, interim and year-end audit schedules and footnotes, and the MIH 990 tax return.
Responsible within assigned area for analysis, accounting, and reconciliation of long-term debt, bond issue costs, accrued interest expense, deferred interest revenue and assets, money market account, Wellness Departments, Community Housing, prepaid and payroll deduction accounts.
Prepares interim and year-end audit schedules and footnotes.
Banking responsibilities including ordering supplies, credit card machine installations, and customer service.
Responsible for balancing NCHPG physicians and ancillary daily closes to the patient accounting system.
Coordinates with CBO, managers, and PSR's making sure all deposits are made in a timely manner.
Reconciles NCHPG bank accounts and primary accounts.
Conducts month end processes and prepares the MIH 990 tax return.
Responsible for the collection and accuracy of data used for the general ledger , PLA, EPSI system, Daily Monitor, bi-weekly and monthly paid hours, statistics used for the general ledger and other agencies.
Responsible for the quarterly submission of patient data to the Agency for Healthcare Administration.
Month-end statistical reports, EPSI, GL reconciliations according to the close schedule.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of Associate's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related area, preferably in the healthcare industry.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting or related area in lieu of education.
