Job Summary
Performs a variety of moderately complex professional accounting functions involved in the maintenance and review of the more difficult and responsible departmental or Countywide funds and fiscal accounts. Maintains or ensures the maintenance of a complete set of accounting books including journals and general ledgers for assigned funds and/or fiscal accounts.
Posts or ensures posting is made to proper accounts, maintains accounting controls, and periodically adjusts and closes accounts.
Prepares financial and statistical statements summarizing accounting records and transactions for cost analysis and budget preparation. Utilizes current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
Minimum Qualifications

At the time of application; applicant must:
1.Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a closely related field of study.
2.Have had two (2) years of full-time professional accounting work experience.
NOTE: A Master's degree in one of the degree areas listed above may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
