JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Accounting Manager, the employee will be responsible for moderately complex accounting activities in an accurate and timely manner for multiple companies.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Work closely with other departments to ensure business activity is posted correctly and in a timely manner
Generate monthly depreciation schedules and accounting for fixed assets
Set up and track work-in-progress accounts for capital projects Prepare monthly financial statements and operating reports for distribution to management and other personnel
Prepare monthly credit card account reconciliations
Prepare, post, and review journal entries
General ledger and bank account reconciliation
Balance intercompany accounts between Doyon, Limited and assigned subsidiaries
Maintain and invoice accounts receivable
Process shareholder transactions, including distributions
Assist in the annual Doyon Limited financial audit
Maintain a high degree of accuracy
Document and explain complex accounting transactions
Meet deadlines, organize work materials, and manage time effectively
Other duties as assigned
Attendance of continuing education initiatives, including a limited number of events each year requiring overnight travel, may be required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and at least one (1) year of relevant work experience; associate's degree in accounting and at least five (5) years of relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
Experience using Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of computerized accounting systems
Strong knowledge of accounting principles
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting with two (2) or more years of relevant work experience
Accounting experience in a corporate environment
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities.
