Assist with managing of the Company's General Ledger and Financial Reporting department. This will be a hands-on person who will assist the accounting team in the month-end close process in all areas from preparing journal entries to creating internal reporting, and preparing reconciliations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assist in all areas of the month-end close process including but not limited to posting adjusting journal entries and accruals.

  • Prepare reconciliations monthly, including bank reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in all areas.

  • Analyzes and prepares reports as required.

  • Assist with external auditor requests during interim and year-end reporting.

  • Prepare various tax schedules.

  • Assist with statutory and regulatory filings on an as needed basis.

  • Work towards automating processes including working with other departments from scoping project to testing.

  • Assist with upgrade of accounting system.

  • Very team oriented environment pitch in and assist team in any area needed to meet deadlines.

  • Responsible for furnishing and developing financial reports/schedules as requested and performing a variety of tasks required by Accounting Manager, Controller, and other department managers.

Education / Experience / Other Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with two to five years of progressive accounting experience

  • Advanced PC skills including:

  • Knowledge in Oracle functionality or other accounting software preferred

  • Excel skills required - Pivot tables, V look-ups, sum-ifs

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel preferred - macros

  • Data base experience preferred Essbase, Hyperion

  • Good decision making/judgment, strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, analytical, and communication skills

  • Maintain confidentiality, high professional ethics & honesty

Physical Factors

Office environment, no major discomforts other than moderate noise from standard office equipment. Position requires close visual work and frequent use of computer keyboard.
