Advanced Energy is currently seeking a talented Cost Accountant. The Cost Accounting position is responsible for supporting the company's financial record-keeping and reporting requirements and to ensure compliance with US and other GAAP, corporate policies and procedures, and common ethical practices.

Prepares and records journal entries, account reconciliations related to cost and inventory management.
Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities as needed.
Analyze inventory variances and prepare analysis for absorption.
Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory values.
Review and monitor inventory movements for necessary reserves
Analyze plant cost factors of labor, material utilization, overhead and freight. Prepare and record related journal entries
Ensures compliance with internal controls for cost accounting processes and documentation (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley 404).
Communicate with local and foreign subsidiaries to resolve cost accounting issues.
Prepare end-of-month reports for management with inventory KPIs.
Develop and implement improvements to the processes noted above.
Support internal and external auditors request during annual audits and periodic reviews. Work with site personnel to implement corrective action when/where needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum 3 years previous cost accounting experience.
Global experience preferred. Public company experience preferred
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Results oriented communication and team interaction.
Advanced Excel skills required including pivot tables and vlookups.
Proficient in other Microsoft applications including Word and Outlook
Experienced in the use of accounting software.
SAP and Blackline experience a plus.
In-depth understanding of accounting concepts.
Ability to accomplish difficult tasks with minimal oversight and maintain a consistent level of accuracy in all assigned areas.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to present solutions to difficult accounting problems.
Excellent communication, problem-solving and follow-up skills.
CPA a plus
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.
This position is located our Denver, CO office.
Travel requirements are less than 10%
Standard office environment.
