Accountant II

Job Description BAE Systems Platforms and Services is currently hiring an Accountant II to support the Combat Vehicles Business Unit in York, PA. Under supervision, the Accountant will learn and utilize professional accounting concepts in the performance of accounting duties in accordance with well-established policies and procedures. Records, classifies, examines, and analyzes data and records of accounting transactions to ensure accurate and complete financial information.

Responsibilities:

• Performs basic accounting tasks in general or specialized functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost Accounting, General Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, and Payroll Accounting.

• Handles a variety of accounting assignments including the preparation, analysis, review, verification, and reconciliation of various records, financial reports, and statements.

• Prepares and maintains accurate, detailed financial records.

• Researches industry, business, professional, government, and company standards to provide relevant information in order to resolve accounting issues.

• Acquires and maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant discipline(s), industry practices, trends, and applications.

• Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.

• Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 2 years of related experience or equivalent experience.

• Experience in Accounting: General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Payroll Accounting, Accounts Receivables, or Accounts Payables.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word and PowerPoint skills.

• Ability to use computers to prepare appropriate reports and documents.

• Ability to develop/demonstrate research and presentation skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

• Ability to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal and external customers.

• Ability to make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• A relatively high level of analytical ability to analyze financial information and make suggestions regarding its use.

• Good planning, time management, and organization skills.

• Sound interpersonal skills.

• Knowledge of general and cost accounting principles, auditing principles, and computer systems and financial software applications.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $58300 - $99100

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
