Van Andel Institute is currently seeking a full-time Accountant in our Finance Department. VAI's Finance Department is responsible for providing relevant, strategic, and timely financial reporting and analysis to facilitate maximum scientific and education impact while maintaining endowment purchasing power.
As an Accountant you will:
Review new grant award agreements extracting important compliance and financial oriented information.
Month end closing of grants.
Reporting grants internally and externally based on sponsor deliverables.
Communication with team members in Finance and Office of Sponsored Research related to grants.
Year End audit responsibilities and assist with single audit requests.

The skills you will be required to have in this role:
Bachelor's degree with a major emphasis in accounting.
Excels in Microsoft Office (with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel), verbal and written communication, and other applicable tools to perform job function.
Hard working and committed to producing strong results.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
