This position will assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements for Park University and the Parkville Commercial Underground (PCU). The position will also prepare supporting reconciliations and journal entries for the general ledger accounts supporting the Park University and Parkville Commercial Underground financial statements as instructed by the Assistant Controller.
General ledger transactions and reconciliation for the University and Parkville Commercial Underground, which includes:
Preparation of certain financial statements and reports as instructed.
Analyze, propose and post journal entries monthly to accounts such as prepaid expense.
Reconcile monthly cash accounts general ledger accounts.
Assist in the annual capitalization analysis and entry.
Enter Receivables and Payments for the Parkville Commercial Underground.
Prepare LCI billing and monitors accounts for outstanding balances.
Recovery of journals and resolution of audit entry problems due to system failure.
Assist in preparing work papers for the annual financial audit.
Backup other Accounting staff for voiding checks.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred
Alternately, three years of experience in general ledger accounting in lieu of degree
This position sits for extended periods of time at a desk. The position also requires the ability to walk to meetings throughout the campus.
The ability to use a computer and calculator with proficiency.
