Performs accounting procedures and reviews recorded transactions for accuracy and validity to aid in the monthly, quarterly and annual closings and/or consolidations.


  • Compiles and maintains journal entries in computer system.

  • Reconciles general ledger accounts and reviews general ledger trial balance for accuracy.

  • Reconciles and maintains key balance sheet accounts.

  • Analyzes and prepares projections on accrual accounts for accuracy.

  • Generates and submits reports to corporate finance and plant management.

  • Advises on OnBase and Baan issues as necessary.

  • Codes and submits miscellaneous bills and expense reports for payment.

  • Analyzes income statements.

  • Assists in monthly and quarterly closings of accounts.

  • Duties may focus on maintaining the fixed asset system.

  • Aids in the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation process for both tax and Corporate Controllers Department.

  • Completes fixed asset analyses of operations and accounts.

  • Completes special projects and performs other duties, as required.


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent education and experience.


  • 2-3 years accounting experience; manufacturing environment experience preferred.


  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Must be able to handle confidential information and work with all levels within the organization.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, large projects, and multiple priorities within established deadlines.

  • Ability to discern errors within highly complex or detailed work.

  • Solid computer skills.

This role will have second line oversight for continuous improvement in the evaluation and mitigation of risk within the the Barclaycard US portfolio. What will you be doing? * Formulate and conduct extensive analytical exercises in order to mitigate transaction and account level risk in the portfolio using statistical analysis techniques such as CHAID Decision Trees and optimization procedures * Check and Challenge High Risk Account Management (HRAM) strategy proposals formulated by analytics team. * Formulate the risk oversight framework for HRAM programs to ensure that strategy development is in compliance with the policy, mandates and risk appetite. * Work with the various stakeholders such as first line of defense analytics team, Governance, Regulators, Strategy implementation team, Legal and Compliance What we're looking for: * Four-year college degree in quantitative discipline required (ex. Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics). * 4+ years analytical work experience in a financial services company required Skills that will help you in the role: * Graduate studies, Masters or PhD preferred but not required * Strong communication skills & ability to work independently * Strong attention to detail * Project management skills * Proficiency with analytical software (e.g. SAS), SQL tools (e.g., Oracle), Unix platforms, Knowledge Seeker, and MS Office required Where will you be working?
