The Accountant is a member of the Global Consolidations Team reporting to the Accounting Manager I, Global Consolidations. This position is responsible for the preparation and support of various accounting, reporting, and analysis duties related to the international consolidation process, with focus on the Latin America and Asia Pacific Regions (AP-LA). The responsibilities for this role include assuring financial results and statistical data are accurately and timely reported and consolidated. This includes reviewing, promoting and understanding the financial results, responding to inquiries on a timely basis and assuring the company complies with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies and other mandated accounting regulations.
What You Will Do:
Review, monitor and validate monthly and quarterly financial statements submitted by AP-LA international subsidiaries.
Review, submission, analysis and validation of monthly, quarterly and statistical data submitted by AP-LA and other international subsidiaries.
Pro-actively research and correspond with countries on submission issues/questions, support AP-LA Regions on accounting and reporting questions.
Perform accounting activities and analysis of Intercompany accounts, extra-ordinary items, and other accounting/consolidation tasks.
Maintain and improve processes, procedures and documentation.
Develop/maintain collaborative and effective partnerships with Country Controllers, local accounting staff and St. Paul Corporate Functions.
Support and cross train team members on department responsibilities.
Assist with various projects as necessary.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
Strong working knowledge of US GAAP
Proficient to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel,

CPA, CMA or MBA
Familiarity with consolidation accounting and systems a plus (Hyperion Financial Management HFM and FDM)
Experience with SAP, Oracle or other large-scale ERPs
International experience and language skills are valued
