Accountant

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a directly related field with 15 semester hours in Accounting provided that the minimum degree requirement is met.

Disclaimer - "Accredited" means any nationally or regionally accredited college, university, or law school where the applicant is enrolled in or has completed an Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or Juris Doctorate degree program.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the oral interview will be selected.

Preference will be given to external candidates possessing the following:

• Previous accounting experience in a government setting

• Previous experience using accounting related reporting systems

• Previous experience in municipal accounting, reconciliation, & maintenance of ledgers, preparation of financial statements, special assessment accounting or governmental fund accounting

• Proficiency in auditing techniques, financial management, budget and cost analysis or forecasting principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
