Job Description:


The Accountant is responsible for month-end procedures including: journal entries, reconciliations and reporting analytics as well as continuous improvement projects to streamline processes/procedures.


  • Performs general ledger accounting and month-end accounting functions; including journal entries and analysis worksheets to support month-end results

  • Participates in designing and implementing financial processes, controls, and enabling systems which will be critical to the future growth of the business

  • Supports the periodic testing of controls and ensure consistent adherence of key controls is achieved.

  • Identifies, leads, or participates in the implementation of process improvement initiatives and continuous improvement

  • Prepares monthly managerial reports that support the key needs of the business, senior management, and other internal customers

  • Perform account fluctuations and trend analysis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements

  • Perform governmental, tax and corporate reporting requirements

  • Supports monthly corporate reporting and analysis in Hyperion

  • Provides support and participates in the corporate budgeting process as required

  • Adheres to all appropriate financial policies such as GAAP and SOX

  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting

  • Minimum of 1-year of relevant experience

  • Ability to think analytically, creatively, and independently with excellent problem-solving skills

  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office applications, advanced level MS Excel user


  • Self-motivated and driven for results with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and continually striving for improvement

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities

  • Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal business customers


  • Experience with JDE, Hyperion Financial Management

  • CPA (or working towards CPA), knowledge of GAAP principles

  • Advanced level in Microsoft Office applications, advanced level MS Excel user

This position reports to the Accounting Manager. In this role, responsibilities will include the accuracy and timely preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Reporting. Major Areas of Responsibility * Process invoice by verifying supporting documents * Prepare bills and invoices * Prepare daily bank deposit * Process cash receipts by recording cash, checks, wires and credit card transactions * Research unapplied cash receipts * Organize and maintain retention files for required period of time * Process valid or authorized deductions * Send customer statements * Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to the GL * Generate accounting reports * Provide management reports * Process credit card transactions Basic Broad Knowledge * Computer Programs- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint * English Language- Knowledge of structure and content of English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar Qualifications Basic Skills & Abilities * Strong analytical and quantitative competencies * Ability to multi-task and solve problems * Possess intellectual agility; readily accepts challenges of unfamiliar task * Speaks and writes clearly and effectively even when relating complex information.
