Accountant

Banyan Search is sourcing for a strong Accountant to join a growing company in the Triad and southeast region!  The Accountant will be responsible for assisting in maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, working on special projects and for providing accurate financial reports to management.

Essential Functions:

• Assist the Corporate Controller with the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, including:
• Month-end close process including preparing, reviewing and directing (as appropriate) month-end close tasks, journal entries and reconciliations helping to ensure that all deadlines are met with materially correct results.
• Assist in preparation of rolling forecasts/budget.
• Development, documentation and continuous improvement of processes as appropriate.
• Assist in administration of general ledger business unit and account set up.
• Perform research on accounting issues.
• Maintain and assist in Lease Schedules and Fixed Assets

Qualifications of Job:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Minimum of two to three years of experience in accounting.
• Strong MS Excel skills.
• Experience with accounting software (ex: Oracle, MS Dynamics, Netsuite, etc) preferred
• Strong fundamental accounting skills, organizational ability, problem solving skills and reasoning ability
