POSITION TITLE: Accountant

REPORTS TO: Manager - Accounting

POSITION SUMMARY:

Support the Accounting Department duties with emphasis on asset accounting including fixed assets, prepaid expenses and leases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate with business partners to understand the projects and transactions being recorded

  • Analyze transactions and balances to ensure that they are appropriately recorded in the general ledger

  • Prepare and review routine recurring and non recurring journal entries

  • Prepare monthly reconciliations between subledgers and general ledger balances

  • Assist in the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close process

  • Assist in the setup and administration of asset management systems and processes

  • Assist in the preparation of key internal reporting

  • Prepare required documentation for financial audits and reviews

  • Assist in maintenance of Sarbanes Oxley compliance

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required

  • 1-3 year's experience in corporate accounting or equivalent public accounting experience

  • Lawson and Hyperion software experience preferred

  • Asset management software experience preferred

  • Cadency reconciliation and journal entry software experience preferred

  • High degree of proficiency with standard Microsoft Office and Google Workspace products

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail

  • Strong analytical, prioritization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills

  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
