Responsibilities Responsibilities: Reviews prepared financial statements for accuracy and provides analysis and interpretation of the financial data.

Cross trains with other department members, under the direction of the accounting supervisor and/or manager.

Prepares or reviews audit schedules and bank reconciliation reports, as necessary. Prepares various month-end accruals.

Initiates or responds to calls and other inquiries regarding accounting or financial matters.

Assists with budget planning and preparation. Initiates requests and collects data and reports for month-end close.

Book monthly cash journal entries, clear checks, and reconcile bank book with ~30 accounts.

Reconciling and investigating any outages. Maintain the prepaid schedule and book the monthly amortization entries for the balances, as appropriate.

Reviewing AP payments to vendors to determine if any new spend should be reclassed as a prepaid.

Accruing missing vendors, as necessary. At the end of close, performing Expense Analysis for the assigned grouping of accounts and investigating any outages that meet our thresholds at a divisional level.

Once variances have been corrected or explained, this is used in the G&A presentation as part of our monthly financial statement meeting to the CAO.

Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts and research/book entries, as necessary. Take part in the annual budgeting process.

This role will work closely with our Risk Management Department to budget insurance costs for the entire company, as well as a few other field accounts.

It will also budget assigned corporate departments. All of our Accounting positions require strong organizational skills, attention to detail and competency in Microsoft Excel. Qualifications Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Strong computer and software skills and proficient with spreadsheet applications.

Preferred One year accounting experience. Experience with Peoplesoft application.
