The Accountant position is responsible for processing payroll, preparing month end and other related reports, processing vendor invoices, assisting the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial records and performing other accounting related responsibilities for the organization.
Process Payroll in an accurate and timely manner
Calculate commissions and overtime premiums following FLSA guidelines
Approve timecards and time off requests
Process expense reports in an accurate and timely manner and in accordance with department procedures.
Review records of accounts and input entries into proper accounts
Prepare error free, daily accounting reports on production
Process vendor invoicing in a timely manner
Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financials
Perform audits as needed
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles and GAAP
Highly analytical and able to give accounting advice to various departments
Business acumen and financial management
Familiarity with State and local wage laws
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor of Arts in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
CPA license is a plus
Proficient in Excel
Proficiency in ADP and other payroll services
5 or more years of accounting experience
