ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform book keeping of Western Digital holding company activities
Work closely with intercompany accounting team to record the intercompany transactions including the reconciliation of investment in subsidiary and other related transactions
Work closely with cross functional teams such as tax / legal with respect to accounting for intercompany loans, intercompany funding and repatriation transactions
Prepare journal entries and account analysis for general ledger accounting
Prepare and perform general account reconciliations and analysis for assigned accounts
Prepare the monthly Balance Sheet flux analysis
Prepare the monthly GAAP vs Non-GAAP Income statements and flux analysis
Review international reporting packages form foreign sites on a monthly basis
Perform Multi-level Intercompany transactions, reconciliations and analysis
Prepare monthly reporting schedules to executives, providing commentary and noting flux changes from prior periods, which includes preparation of other income / expenses fluctuations
Participating in business transformation projects to streamline and drive financial close processes improvements
Play an active role in implementation and harmonization of corporate accounting processes for general ledger areas.
Support the Sarbanes-Oxley documentation and testing for key balance sheet and income statement accounts
Assist in preparation of quarterly SEC financial reporting, including cash flow statements, footnotes and disclosures. Proactively identify issues and assist in optimizing systems, upgrades and automation of accounting processes
Assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits conducted by external auditors
Preparation of ad-hoc analysis and special projects as requested;
Assist with quarterly, interim and year-end audits;
A qualified candidate will also have strong communication and critical-thinking skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various levels of personnel across the organization including folks overseas in Asia Pacific and EMEA.
This person must be able to work comfortably in a fast paced, unpredictable environment where changing priorities may occur frequently based on operational needs.
Qualified candidates will require the following:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar degree
A minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience including experience working in industry and familiarity with areas of consolidation, intercompany transactions, account reconciliations, multi-currency consolidations, and financial reporting
Public accounting / audit experience with a CPA certificate preferred
Experience with SAP and Oracle systems preferred
Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
Advanced Excel skills
Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people. Desire to work as a team member. Both the same team and outside of the team.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Willingness to tackle and troubleshoot problems and with the ability to work in a fast paced and limited resource environment.
Strong communication skills including working with international teams, and able to handle internal and external audit teams.
