Accountant 3 (Finance)

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting and two years of accounting experience; OR Bachelor's degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and two years of accounting experience; OR four years of additional accounting work experience and two years of college coursework are required.

Recruitment Notes

The Accountant 3 is a professional position responsible for supervising subordinate accountants as well as clerical positions within the Finance - Credit & Collections Division. Responsibilities include, but not limited to monitoring the processing of cash and credit card payments, to assure posting of payments to the proper debtor's account.

Monitoring of the cash deposits, preparation and posting of the Record of Cash, and closing of daily work. Supervises the daily processing of payments received via mail and ensures that the staff processes all payments within 24 hours as per guidelines. Ensures that all Collectors receive proper credit for all collections received in house.

This process is implemented upon closing of the IMPACT system at the end of the day. Adjusts entries to include distributions to all agencies for whom the Credit & Collection division collects, and all accrual entries. Processes payment requests for the division's expenses. Prepares monthly reports such as the Revenue and Expense and Target Reports, which provides the figure for the Gainsharing monthly report used to issue employees' bonuses.
