The Corporate Accountant is responsible for:
Monitor the activity of operating leases on a daily basis; remain in constant contact with third party administrator, facilities and contract services departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of active leases.
Keep abreast of new, renewed, modified, and terminated leases.
Ensure that relevant rent expenses are properly recorded in the General Ledger in accordance with GAAP for each entity.
Manages accounting components of the lease portfolio, such as extensions, amendments, or terminations, through lease administration software.
Review lease Management Company's funding requirements and work with them along with facilities and contract services to ensure payments are timely and correctly recorded in accordance with the lease agreement.
Record the funds transfer to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
Prepare and manage lease leveling schedules for new leases and leases modified or renewed.
Oversee the proper accounting of rent expense and monitoring the monthly updates.
Prepare account analysis/reconciliation for various balance sheet accounts.
Review monthly expenses and provide explanations for account variances.
Assist with the preparation of spreadsheets and back-up documentation for Tax and Audit Client Assistance Packages (Interim and Annual).
Prepare Quarterly W-4 schedule to disclose future lease obligations.

Minimum five to seven years prior Accounting experience
Previous experience in lease accounting preferred
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP)
Healthcare experience preferred
Ability to work on various assignments simultaneously.
Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing with department heads, managers, coworkers and vendors to resolve problems and negotiate resolutions
Working knowledge of computers, internet access, and the ability to navigate within an automated systems as well as a variety of software packages such as Outlook, Excel and Word.
