Are you a hardworking individual with a positive attitude? The Office of Financial Services is looking for you! This position serves as the recognized resource/expert accountant for the most complex revenue accounting issues. This position researches and formulates solutions for the most complex revenue accounting transactions in the Statewide Integrated Governmental Management Applications System (SIGMA). This position is responsible for reviewing and approving transactions processed by the Revenue Accounting Section staff in SIGMA of over $45 billion annually.

Required Education and Experience


Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.


Note: Experience is considered professional if the job requires a bachelor's degree.

Three years of professional experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports, including one year equivalent to an Accountant P11.

Alternate Education and Experience

Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certification (CPA) may be substituted for one year of Accountant P11 experience.


Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of Accountant P11 experience.

VIEW JOBS 11/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-13T00:00 Job Description The Network Specialist for the Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) provide network management and centralized control of the 800 MHZ Motorola SmartZone system and its associated Nokia microwave backbone network on a 24-hour basis. The team relies on strong IT and analysis skills for all of the NCC members to smoothly function together or as individuals, managing the wireless statewide dynamic integrated voice and data communications network for public safety first responders. An NCC Network Specialist for the MPSCS, provides network monitoring, management, and centralized control of all aspects of the statewide communications network comprised of 700/800 MHz Motorola system and its associated Nokia backhaul network including microwave links, MPLS routing, and other networking technologies. This position engages in independent analysis activities involved with system performance, monitoring, and identification of current or potential problems. Upon detection of a fault or impending failure, the individual seeks to remotely diagnose and repair and regularly manages, coordinates, and assists the work of technicians in the field to troubleshoot and restore network-wide services. This position is the single point of customer contact for over 80,000 subscribers, and is responsible for managing all components of the statewide network on a 24/7 basis, while focusing on achieving the goals and mission of the agency. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: General knowledge of the system elements associated with this network, such as LAN/WAN, trunked radio systems, digital microwave networks, packet networks, cross-connect equipment, other controllers and switches, hubs, routers, servers etc. Since it is imperative that the person in this position have a complete understanding of the user's equipment, he or she must acquire specific knowledge of the MPSCS and the respective System Elements and Subsystems in a short time after accepting this position. Must have knowledge of problem diagnosis, resolution, and communications solutions necessary to maintain and enhance network operation, availability, and reliability. Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner with all levels of personnel, so that necessary maintenance and upgrade activities can be coordinated effectively and widely understood. Ability to function in a high pressure network management environment associated with network control and system coordination. The person in this position must be willing to work long hours on any shift and under potentially stressful situations. Ability to utilize monitoring systems to analyze data, format and report as required. Would like at least 3 years of experience maintaining two-way radio and/or microwave radio equipment or experience functioning in a network management/network control position.
