Lincoln County School District is accepting on-line applications for an Accountability and Assessment Specialist at the District Office.

PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to work with a variety of data sources to create accurate, usable information for the District in a timely manner.

The goal is to ensure that District-wide data needs for creating, analyzing, reporting and communicating information are met. This position is primarily responsible for state and federal accountability reporting related to student academic performance, enrollment, and attendance. Assessment data is part of the academic reporting so the position also serves as the district test coordinator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following are examples of duties. However, any one position may not cover all duties listed; examples may not cover all duties an employee is expected to perform; and other duties may be assigned.

Accountability

Complete all assigned ODE data collections, external reporting requirements, and related activities.
Completes ODE report card verifications, web surveys, enrollment reports, and graduation reports.
Serves as the liaison between ODE, Education Service District, secondary education institutions and district staff regarding state and federal grants; responds to requests for information according to established guidelines. (e.g. Indian Education, AVID, GEAR UP, Measure 98, Perkins, etc)
Assists in data for federal Title Program Grants.
Assists with data an annual audit of Title grants, and prepares financial reports and information required for compliance.
Compile and distributes monthly student enrollment reports.
Coordinates with administrators to ensure that data is delivered in a way that meets the needs of the organization.
Provide student information support to the modules connected to accountability reporting.
Creates and distributes updates of various "Checklists" for the opening and closing of the school year.
Create and continually update technical documentation of the flow of data, especially student-level data, throughout the District.
Maintains, stores, and retrieves information in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner using standard office systems, equipment, and software.
Strives for customer service excellence in dealing with and responding to requests.
Maintain District calendar of all ODE data collections, external reporting requirements and related activities.
Create and maintain a calendar of standardized, District wide 'charts and templates; and the expected uses within the schools.

  • Coordinate with Curriculum Director to ensure that data is delivered in a way that supports the Curriculum effort.
    Provides training to staff on accessing and producing specialized data.
    Performs other related services as assigned.

Assessment
Provides technical assistance and serves as the main contact for state and national assessment questions.
Provides assessment information and other related data to administrators, schools, and other programs.
Monitors the district's assessment practices and systems to ensure the district is following assessment- related policies and procedures.
Communicates directly with the Oregon Department of Education regarding state assessment and reports any testing improprieties.
Collects, analyzes, interprets, and prepares assessment data reports for buildings and district departments.
Attends and represents the district at out-of-district regional meetings with ODE staff and assessment staff from other districts.
Represents administrators, as assigned, in communications with staff, parents, the public, and students to facilitate issue resolution, provide accurate information, and support effective program management pertaining to assessment practices, systems, and data.
Interprets policy and procedures, within district guidelines, for staff, students, parents, and others, in a
timely and accurate fashion.
Reviews and analyzes data to ensure accurate collection for assessment accountability.
Manages all aspects of online and paper-based Oregon state assessments, including administration, analysis, reporting, and district testing windows, and distribution and collection of testing materials.
Works with Title III and Special Education district administrators in the coordination of ELPA and Extended Assessments.
Uploads all national, state, and district assessment results into the student information system.
Creates customer SIS test imports when needed.
Provides training to staff on assessment coordination.

Education and/or Experience: College degree or equivalent experience; minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary: $21.26/hour - $23.47/hour
This is an 8.0 hour per day position, 12 months/260 days.

Qualified applicants will be asked for an interview and must provide a resume and at least 2 letters of recommendation. Upon selection, employees will be required to pay for the following: $12.50 fingerprinting fee and $66 ODE processing fee.
