THE JOB / Account Trainee, Collectables Client

EXPERIENCES / Responsible for planning and executing event and experiential marketing programs.

Are you a creative problem solver and can-do thinker who is eager to join a tight-knit, dynamic team? We are looking for a dedicated, organized, and enthusiastic Account Trainee to assist with managing aspects of a continuously expanding marketing initiative for a client in the sports collectible market. Throughout the limited term position, the trainee will experience all phases of planning and producing experiential events. The role calls for on-site event management and will offer the opportunity to work on additional ancillary projects and new business.

THE WORK YOU'LL DO

  • Assist with the logistics of a pre-existing grassroots experiential campaign focused on youth soccer

  • Manage the flow of inventory and event materials for 50 events

  • Travel independently and execute events domestically with a small group of brand ambassadors (approx. 10-15 events)

  • Work directly with vendors and tournament contacts to ensure event success

  • Update larger team on event feedback and inventory

  • Organize event feedback and client facing recaps

  • Pitch in on new business research and other events as needed

THE BIGGER TEAM YOU'LL JOIN

Where others see complexity, we see possibility.

Octagon is the global sports, entertainment and experiential marketing arm of the Interpublic Group. But if that classification doesn't do it for you, and it shouldn't, let's take it a step further.

We are what we believe. And we believe that while the world of sports and entertainment is full of opportunities and possibilities, sometimes the amount of choice can seem a little overwhelming. Even daunting.

That's where we come into play.

At Octagon we inspire brands, talent, and our people to see the world for all its potential. We then help break down the complexity and push forward so you can make your next right move.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • You have a passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, gaming, and/or live events

  • Bachelor's Degree and/or 1-ish years of experience in events or related field

  • You have excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

  • You thrive under pressure and are a solutions oriented problem solver

  • You're not afraid to "pitch in", "roll up your sleeves" and get it done. You take initiative. No task is too big or too small.

  • You exhibit a positive "can do" attitude on-site and in the office

  • Have a strong attention to detail and are highly organized

  • You're a great teammate, but an independent thinker.

  • You have the confidence to handle tasks on-site and own pieces of a program

  • You are able and willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

  • Knowledge and/or interest of soccer is helpful

  • You have a sense of humor and the ability to tell a good story we like to laugh!

  • You have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record

  • You are able to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for up to or more than eight hours at a time
