The Account Specialist/Registrar is responsible for establishing the patient visit record to begin the revenue cycle process for the hospital. This includes obtaining demographic, physician, diagnosis, and verifying active insurance coverage for the patient.

Must provide exceptional customer service while abiding by all government regulations as well as collecting co-pays and/or pre-pays for services. Must always display an attitude that would create a good relationship with the patient and their families, other employees, and the general public.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Previous registration experience desired, medical terminology required. Computer skills requirement include Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Lotus Notes.

Previous experience with Meditech desired. Must have the ability to multitask and work under pressure. Position will cover Central Reg, Oncology, the MOB offices and Wound Care Clinic.

Option to pick up extra open days, may need to cover weekends or holidays on an as needed basis. Training for this position will be a minimum of six weeks, first shift hours Monday
