Account Specialist

  • Energy Efficiency

Overview

An Energy Efficiency Account Specialist in Technical Sales Promotes and sells a portfolio of technical products and/or services and solutions directly to current and new small to mid-size business customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Outreach Activities: Identifies and pursues outreach opportunities with a variety of small and medium business customers to improve awareness and participation in energy efficiency programs and upgrades; presents energy efficiency opportunities to businesses in a variety of venues (i.e., chambers of commerce; business, industry and trade organization meetings; trade shows; and city and county government meetings); conducts outbound phone calls to identify customers with opportunities and ability to pursue energy efficiency projects; maintains customer lead generation updates in database system; coordinates chamber of commerce and trade shows events.

  • Energy Efficiency Program Plans and Strategies: Develops a plan to improve the awareness and participation in energy efficiency programs for assigned service area in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders; develops strategies to leverage PGE and Energy Trust resources and contacts to maximize customer program exposure and participation; delivers energy efficiency leads to Energy Trust; participates in and significantly contributes to regularly-scheduled meetings with internal stakeholders, the Energy Trust and program management contractors to review program delivery logistics; communicates plan, strategies and updates with Energy Trust managers/staff, assuring strategies do not duplicate efforts; develops and manages business alliances to support objectives within assigned service area.

  • Customer Education and Consultation Responds to inquiries generated through PGE and Energy Trust joint mass-marketing efforts (only responds to PGE marketing efforts); demonstrates and communicates features and benefits of energy efficiency technologies, applications, programs and services to educate customers and influence customer action; provides energy efficiency consultation, assessing customer opportunities and ability to fund potential projects; identifies and mitigates or removes customer barriers to taking action.

  • Technical Assistance Provides technical expertise and assistance relating to site identification, pricing analyses, consultation reports and in-depth energy efficiency technology and application assessments; responds to complex information requests from customers, trade allies, consultants, corporate decision-makers, state and local government managers and economic development agencies regarding energy efficiency.

  • Presentations and Training Creates and maintains program talking points and presentations; serves as a subject matter expert and resource for less experienced colleagues; translates rapidly changing, highly technical and complex subject matter into presentations; assesses and adapts information for audiences, training sessions, training materials and collateral material; develops and delivers periodic communications, reports, and presentations to management.

  • External Relations Identifies, builds, and maintains relationships of trust with widely diverse groups; represents PGE in public arenas to influence customers and external stakeholders, solicit assistance/information, resolve conflicts, form alliances, and protect PGE interests.

Education/Experience/Certifications

  • Education Requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance or other related field or equivalent experience.

  • Experience Typically five or more years in energy efficiency or related field.

  • Experience in sales or outreach strategies in addition is a plus.

  • Bi-lingual in Spanish - highly preferred

  • Requires a valid driver's license and a history of safe driving practices.

PGE supports hybrid flexible work arrangements; and will have a combination of in-the-office and working offsite. This individual will need to be located within 75 miles from job location and will need to work in-the-office at least one day a week. However, these arrangements may change due to business needs or changes in responsibility.

Compensation Range:

$87,225.00 - $145,375.00

Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
