The Account Specialist builds relationships with and provides support to restaurant and supplier clients. The Specialist handles day-to-day servicing of a large global account with overall account support responsibility for the global client team, which encompasses: managing projects that flow across multiple countries, reviewing and analyzing multi-country data and analyses, attending and contributing to client meetings, contributing to revenue goals, and increasing NPD's value with clients.

This position will be located in our Rosemont, IL or Chicago, IL office, with 2 days per week onsite at a client in downtown Chicago.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Extremely skilled at building and nurturing relationships with client contacts, as this person will be the day-to-day contact and will be on-site at the client's corporate headquarters 2 days per week working across multiple functions including insights, strategy, menu, etc.

  • Excellent analytic skills, with the ability to transform large data sets into compelling solutions to the client's unique business issues; creative problem solving skills and analytics are a necessity

  • Accurately interpreting data and clearly articulating findings and insights to both internal and external audiences in written and verbal formats

  • Managing analytic projects that flow across multiple countries, from start to finish

  • Learning various countries' databases to be able to independently pull and analyze data to meet client requests

  • Becoming a go-to resource on NPD's global foodservice offerings

  • Supporting the senior Client Development team to address day-to-day client business issues

  • Ability to proactively identify business opportunities and be prepared to learn and work across multiple data sets

  • Working with market data housed in a cross-tabular software system and Excel


  • 2-4 years of experience in market research

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Proactive mindset

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Proven ability to quickly learn proprietary software/database applications

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, SAAS and/or Tableau experience is a plus!

  • Strong analysis and writing ability digests diverse data sets into cohesive and succinct stories

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as basic presentation/storytelling skills

  • Expert in all MS Office products Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Interested in working with people of different cultures and languages; flexible to work across time zones

What we look for: * Bachelor's Degree from a four year college or university. * 5–10 years of experience working in a marketing role-ideally digital performance marketing. * Capability to develop thoughtful strategies to grow advertiser programs. * Strong written and verbal communication and relationship skills. * Ability to working cross functionally with Product, Analytics, Accounting and Technology teams to accomplish client objectives. * Deliver high quality service and results to clients while delivering against CJ financial expectations. * Proven leadership and coaching skills. * Critical thinker and creative problem solver – you are able to influence/develop/negotiate account strategies that incorporate affiliate marketing best practices * Passion for innovation and technology * Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft suite of products, including Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
