Responsibilities

The Account Manager directly serves as the liaison between the facility, the community, and referring agencies. The Account Manager is directly responsible for creating demand for the facility's services through the effective application of ethical marketing principles and sales methods. In collaboration with the Director of Business Development and Business Development Team, the Account Manager presents a positive and professional public image of the facility within the community.

The Account Manager is responsible for the implementing the facility's strategic sales plan, enhancing the facility's brand/image, effectively managing their assigned territory and accounts, and works to achieve departmental and facility business development goals. The Account Manager must be able to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience and dedication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to a varied population including children, adolescents, adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and partial hospital setting.

  • Education: Minimum of Bachelors Degree

  • Experience: Excellent communication skills; capable of operating independently and effectively; self-motivated; experience in developing new territories in target markets with customer base; consistent ability to close sales and achieve assigned objectives; knowledge of mental health and substance abuse terminology; experience in customer service in the health care field preferred; must be able to cope with rejection and criticism; ability to maintain information as highly confidential; able to meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge:
    Prefer knowledge of the Philadelphia and Southeastern Pennsylvania behavioral health marketplace, insurance plans, target markets and referral sources, psychiatric and chemical dependency diagnoses & symptomology, age specific programming.

  • Supervision Received: Director of Business Development

  • Supervision Exercised: None

  • Environmental Conditions: Works in general office environment and hospital units/programs.

    Frequent travel to various agencies and facilities within and outside of the community. Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/aggressive behavior. Potential for exposure to communicable diseases, blood/body fluids and other hazardous waste. General hospital environment.

  • Physical Requirements:
    Ability to communicate verbally, telephonically, and in writing.

    Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Frequent driving, often for long distances. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
