The Transportation Account Manager is responsible for identifying, targeting, prospecting, demonstrating, selling and supporting BAND-IT customers across the North America Vehicle Industry. This position contributes to the development of strategic, marketing and tactical plans to profitably grow sales of BAND-IT products to targeted applications across the Global Vehicle Industry. The Account Manager will contribute coordinates and leverages global strategies, capabilities and synergies as part of the Global Transportation Sales team with Global Transportation Sales colleagues and counterparts around the world. This position is located in North America with preference for the Michigan / Midwest region (role is home office based).


Reports directly to Business Line Director - Transportation.


Systematically identifies, documents, and communicates customer and market requirements and opportunities into the organization. Understands, then recommends existing or proposes the development of new engineered application solutions. Follows up to facilitate BAND-IT solution to identified customer requirements, including all aspects of launch and project coordination.

Primary focal point for all aspects of interface and relationship with targeted and existing Transportation customers and prospects in North America including but not limited to:

  • Maintain, support and grow existing Transportation accounts.

  • Conduct regular, extensive contact and follow up with existing and new customers, regarding all aspects of the overall business relationship.

  • Report progress against forecasts, budgets, targets and action plans utilizing CRM and other tools required.

  • Sell to targeted customers, implement action plans, and report on progress.

  • Understand and report on customer applications, problems to be solved and opportunities, then propose and present BAND-IT solutions to customers.

  • Prepare and present presentations about BAND-IT capabilities and solutions to customers and prospective customers.

  • Coordinate and contribute to the development of Strategic and Annual business plans.

  • Develop and recommend pricing, quotations and proposals reflecting analysis of all cost and operational factors versus customer expectations, following the appropriate process and approvals.

  • Maintain an understanding of BAND-IT's technical, service, support and product capabilities, and products, and communicate same to customers and prospective customers.

  • Interface with selected customers regarding all product, tool and tool repair problems; follows up regarding customer issues in these areas and leverage the feedback to enhance product development and support for future products and programs.

  • Services the customer after the sale and production startup to insure satisfaction and to promote future business. Provides customers with information, site visits, service coordination; and visits to help sell and execute specific products or projects.

Engineering or Business Degree with at least 5 year's experience in account management / sales to the Automotive markets. Vehicle OEM and / or Tier-One Supplier successful work experience is highly desired.

Candidate must possess excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills, with demonstrated ability to influence the market and work effectively as part of a global team. Must also possess ability to travel approximately 50% (Air, car, other) of the time both domestically and internationally as required.

Position Profile The Oncology Account Manager is responsible for direct promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals' products, and the development and management of business relationships with therapeutic specialists within an assigned geographical territory. The Oncology Account Manager (OAM) is an integral part of the commercial team that includes all personnel dedicated to the sales and marketing functions. The Oncology Account Manager will implement Jazz Pharmaceuticals' marketing strategies and marketing tactics to achieve short-term and long-term objectives. This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager. The Oncology Account Manager will: * Be responsible for the effective promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals Adult Oncology products to physicians and other health care providers within the designated area. * Targeted customers may be in both Community Oncology as well as Academic Centers. * Current disease areas of focus are Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) * Educate physicians and other health care professionals about Jazz Pharmaceuticals product(s), providing the most current information about the approved indications for the company's products * Achieve sales forecasts and targets * Participate in organizing and facilitating meetings for the exchange of medical and product information in line with the company's policies, regulatory and legal requirements * Represent company at trade shows, attend company meetings, training programs and functions as needed * Analyze the OAM's designated territory to understand prescribing and purchasing decision processes and any marked differences from national trends * Work closely with Technical Staff to maintain referral base and to increase product revenue * Recognize changes in the work environment develop and implement alternate plans to achieve objectives, modify call plan/business plan activities accordingly * Identify key physicians, health care providers and organizations within assigned territory * Prepare a business plan and area tactical plan for the OAM's assigned territory * Implement approved plans within established time lines * Establish and maintain strong relationships with physicians and other health care professionals identified in business plans * Support company sales strategy and contribute in fostering a team environment * Present a positive and professional image of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, and ensure activities are consistent with and enhance the company's ethical pharmaceutical marketing policies and procedures * Special projects as assigned * Comply with all legal/regulatory guidelines of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, the Prescription Drug Marketing Act, the Pharma Code, OIG guidelines, and all other applicable federal and state regulations * Perform all activities within allocated budget Required Experience * Four year college/university degree or equivalent experience * 5 years pharmaceutical sales experience with 2 of these being in Oncology or 3 years of straight Oncology sales Strong knowledge of product(s); competitor product(s); and applicable disease states desired * Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, and strong planning and organizational skills * Self-motivation and ability to excel in a team environment * Ability to travel to meet territorial requirements Preferred Experience * Post-graduate business school study, training * Hematology and/or Solid tumor sales experience * Experience with AML or Lung Cancer highly preferred * Community Oncology practice experience * Key Account knowledge is strongly preferred Description of Physical Demands * Frequent travel between meeting sites. * Frequently operating a computer, printer, telephone and other similar office machinery. * Description of Work Environment * Frequent interactions with external contacts in their office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations and temperature changes. * Frequent computer laptop or tablet use, not usually at a workstation. * Responsibilities may require a work schedule that may include working outside of "normal" work hours, in order to meet business demands. * Frequent public contact requiring appropriate business apparel.
