Pre-order activities include cross-functional performance to facilitate order acquisition by preparing and participating in presentations to potential customers, attending line-ups, making sales calls, developing quotations, preparing estimates and supporting commercial negotiations. Post-order activities include a supporting role to the project team by participating in contract review, participation in solution design and external equipment runoff.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Compliance with company, legal, and regulatory requirements for Health, Safety, and Environmental topics in order to foster a culture of Health & Safety.

  • Prepare and deliver presentations to potential customers.

  • Attend customer line-up meetings.

  • Develop technical concepts for equipment.

  • Review concept with potential customers.

  • Prepare quotation letters.

  • Review technical content with potential customer.

  • Compilation of standard pricing from existing estimating databases.

  • Execute benchmarking and competitive assessments.

  • Pursue, investigate and report on all business opportunities.

  • Review contracts upon order receipt.

  • Arrange, facilitate and keep minutes of all customer meetings.

  • Develop quotations for order changes.

  • Attend quality gate meetings per company procedures.

  • Facilitate customer (design) approvals.

  • Lead the closing of open invoices.

Supplemental Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regular attendance at the assigned job site(s).

  • Provide the planning group with updates to the estimating database.

  • Provide feedback on customer complaints.

  • Support R & M data acquisition.

  • Support sales database with information.

  • Support the procurement and tracking of customer engineering and consignment parts.

  • Entertain customers and prospects on a regular basis utilizing the company's entertainment tools.

  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a related field from a 4-year college or university; or 6 years of related experience and/or training/education.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • The individual must have the ability to listen effectively.

  • It is essential that the individual is aware of the process to develop: R&M Plans; LCC Estimates; MTBF/MTTR Estimates; DFA/DFM Study; Proposal; Cost Estimate; Budget; D&B Specification; and a Cost-to-Complete CTC.

  • The individual must also be able to work with project documentation, track revenues, manage time, facilitate a meeting, conduct a presentation, overcome objections, and value added selling at a competent skill level.

  • Ability to utilize personal computer equipped with business system, database, spreadsheet, and word processing software.

  • The individual must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
