Position Summary

The Territory Account Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of sales strategies and plans to maintain existing business and identify opportunities for growth to meet or exceed annual sales goals. This individual is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships at assigned accounts and ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.

  • Owns the account strategy within assigned accounts and communicates to extended teams on an account by account basis.

  • Establishes strong relationships at all organizational levels within the customer base and understands customers' processes, business drivers and organizational models.

  • Follows the Rockwell Automation sales process: knows assigned accounts, plans for growth, maintains a healthy funnel, drives opportunities to closure and evaluates performance to goal.

  • Understands the industry (applications, standards/regulations, drivers and trends), the customer's organization and desired business outcomes and Rockwell Automation offerings and delivery mechanisms as well as partner capabilities relevant to assigned accounts.

  • Understands appropriate industry and/or OEM segment, customer and Rockwell Automation/partner capabilities

  • Follows Rockwell Automation sales process.

  • Proactively collaborates with the North America OEM team Segment Leaders and/or Regional Industry Managers.

  • Manages sales activities according to Rockwell Automation's outcome-based selling methodology.

  • Qualifies customer opportunities, engages the appropriate resources and coordinates the solution design to impact the customer's decision process and presents solutions to the customer (value proposition).

  • Coordinates Rockwell Automation account team, senior management and a technical engagement team (domain experts) to plan for and win identified opportunities.

  • Maintains accurate assessment of target and opportunity funnel within the Dynamics Customer Relationship Management system.

  • Teams with corporate Contracts and Negotiations group to come to terms with customers.

  • Negotiates contract terms and conditions (T&Cs), pricing, discounts and allowances through distributor.

  • Supports customer/internal account reviews.

  • Sets and helps manage internal/external partner expectations.

  • Ensures thorough familiarity with company policies and procedures. Appropriately applies policies and procedures in compliance with government laws. Policies and procedures include, but not limited to: Standards of Business Conduct, Intellectual Property, Control Environment, Information Protection, ISO 9000 & 14000, government regulations (e.g. health, safety, quality and environmental).

Individuals will exhibit strong clinical excellence, stay current on product, programs and competitive knowledge. One must be able to manage challenging situations quickly, directly and without hesitation and be creative in their problem solving. Individuals will have experience in calling upon and be comfortable in hospital, office and clinical settings. The Specialist will develop key relationships through frequent and routine customer visits, product demonstrations, product in-services, and procedural observation. Additionally, the Specialist will build and maintain constructive relationships in key accounts with physicians, nurses, technicians, materials management, hospital management and executive hospital personnel. The Specialist may be called upon to participate in the Field Sales Training program and/or provide services as a Field Sales Trainer. Individuals will manage their territory with integrity and in accordance with Bard's Code of Ethics and all applicable Bard policies, rules and procedures. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities including the following. Other duties may be assigned. * Drive sales revenue to exceed established priorities and revenue targets. * Defines and develops sustainable new business opportunities. * Builds and maintains sustainable strategic business relationships in key accounts. * Performs product demonstrations, customer education and in-service as required or requested. * Develops monthly, quarterly and annual plans designed to meet revenue targets. * Develops and maintains a level of excellence in clinical knowledge within respective disease states. * Develops and maintains a level of excellence in territory management and selling skills. * Deliver sales training to inside and field sales employees and channel partners as requested. * Present sales modules, presentations/workshops, overall sales training curriculum at new hire training classes and sales meetings as requested. * Control expenses within territory budgets and manage those resources according to Bard guidelines and policies * Maintains open, positive and productive lines of communication with the sales team, customer service, sales management and the home office staff. * In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Bard Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures. * Completes requested and required administrative duties in a timely manner including call reports, monthly results report and additional items as assigned. * Develops and maintains accurate customer and account files, both written and electronic. * Attend and represent Bard at local, regional and national medical conferences. * Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned.
