The Account Manager Styrene is responsible for representing AmSty and the Styrene business to the marketplace to create value for both. The account manager will develop and execute sales strategies for assigned customers or sales territory that create value for customers and drive profitable growth for AmSty. The account manager will oversee the administative requirements associated with the assigned customers/territory. The position is located in the Chicago, IL area with coverage including all of the United States. The position of Account Manager can require travel up to 50% of the time.

Primary Responsibilities:

Represent AmSty and the Styrene Business

  • Professionally in appearance, comportment, and competence

  • To create customer relationships that provide AmSty opportunity and improve business results

  • Assure AmSty's interests in industry, market, and with customers are promoted and defended

  • Provide market and customer intelligence for organizational evaluation

Develop and Execute Sales Strategies that

  • Meet customer and territory sales and margin objectives

  • Establish strong customer partnerships

  • Produce dependable contractual agreements for the sale of styrene

  • Define and capture market value for monthly and annual price agreements

  • Align sales with and leverage organizational capabilities

  • Build a strong internal team to serve customers and manage accounts

  • Create new and better Customer opportunities

Manage Territory and Accounts

  • Implement monthly pricing

  • Develop and provide sales forecasts

  • Analyze and review sales opportunites and portfolio changes

  • Report on market and customer activity

  • Administer expense budget for market and customer interface

  • Use electronic technology proficiently (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) to accomplish territory and account responsibilities

Requirements

  • A passion for serving customers, selling and closing deals, and meeting commitments

  • An entrepreniural spirit in developing territory business, managing bottom-line results, being proactive, and thinking strategically

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written

  • The ability to develop lasting and trusting relationships with other people

  • Enthusiasm for and capability to participate on, build, and lead teams

  • An effective planner and time manager to meet deadlines for multiple deliverables

  • The ability to work effectively and independently from a virtual office, traveling extensively

  • Proficiency with computer desktop applications such as Excel, Outlook and Apttus

  • Four year college degree. Preference given to Technical (Engineering) and Business Disciplines

  • Minimum 2 years work experience direct Plastics/Petrochemical sales experience preferred
