We are looking for an experienced field based Account Manager. This position is tasked with the growth of an assigned territory (Seattle) that includes a book of strategic accounts. You will also be responsible for developing new customers via prospecting and lead follow up. To be successful in this position, you will be able to quickly establish rapport, produce high volumes of sales calls, offer consultative solutions to opportunities and resolve customer issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintaining strong relationships with assigned strategic accounts to drive retention and share of wallet growth.

  • Calling on new accounts in territory from assigned leads, assigned prospects, referrals, assigned campaigns as well as opportunities identified by your own efforts.

  • Become an expert in your assigned geography and end markets (ie, Construction, events, industrial account types)

  • Drive revenue managing a Book of Business of accounts and develop relationships with multiple contacts within the assigned account base

  • Knowledgeable of entire Sales Lifecycle and demonstrate effective issue resolution, retention, and closing techniques

  • Work in a collaborative manner with all inside and outside sales reps and operations to develop trust and a spirit of cooperation

  • Sub-contracting of services as necessary based on geographical areas or LOB's not covered directly by USS including Out of Footprint (with manager approval)

  • Ability to present to customers and prospects multiple solutions across a variety of USS Products/Services

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all USS Products and Services, both within and outside of assigned territory

  • Team oriented, willing to assist colleagues with training, sharing knowledge and general assistance

  • Special projects as assigned by the department manager.

  • Meet company established sales goals for assigned territory.

  • Conduct effective sales presentations on company's product line in response to the unique needs of each customer.

  • Process customer quotes/proposals, orders and contracts.

  • Perform job walks, site checks, and take daily calls.

  • Meet company requirements for strategic account management face to face visits and phone calls. Conduct routine site visits for quality assurance purposes

  • Coordinate with various departments within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely fashion. Act as liaison between customers, sales, field operations, and office personnel to quickly resolve general inquiries & issues.

  • Properly execute all CRM, pricing, and order processing activities to ensure accurate reporting capabilities by management.

  • Provide timely weekly expense reports to management.

  • Network in Industry Associations (ie, construction associations, event associations).

  • Attend bid openings / meetings.

  • Attend all regional sales meetings and calls.

  • Complete a territory plan as assigned by your manager.

  • Compliance with USS pricing tools and policies

VIEW JOBS 12/1/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-01T00:00 Overview Calls on independent group (5-10 stores) or distributor that requires submitting new item and promotional paperwork to sell our products, present and get new items authorized, sell in promos, some merchandising. Follows our monthly priorities from the retail sales managers / business managers for each client. Enter turnover orders for all stores visited so they can be forwarded to our distributors to be delivered. Coordinate all store events such as anniversary sales, demos, new store openings, remodel expansions, etc. Responsibilities * Personally call on all decision-makers at the customer to sell business plans, programs and concepts that improve long-term business results. * Achieve competitively superior in-store presence in the assigned stores. * Personally call on headquarters, supervisors and other customer operations personnel for both direct and indirect customers. * Manage manufacturers' trade marketing funds, process direct shipments (via the Sales Support Coordinator) and leverage data to sell concepts to the customer. * Pro-actively communicate with key principals. * Effectively use knowledge of customer, market and principal-involve marketing, technology and administrative resources to accomplish objectives. * Visit the assigned stores in the territory based on A,B,C coverage frequency. * Present new items for our clients and secure orders for same. * Present promotional activity to store buyers and secure orders and if possible off shelf displays. * Plan ahead with buyers up to three months on promos. * Access distribution on existing items to be sure they are being carried. * Assist in any merchandising needed for our products. * Enter the orders taken into our NSS website and transmit to the distributor for delivery of the product by the distributors. * Work with the store on all special projects such as demos, trade events, remodels, new store openings, etc. * Utilize computer systems and technology to achieve the objectives of the Business Plan. * Develop and maintain skill levels to support the use of NSS communication systems. * Complete required Client PDF forms and Audits by deadline. * Maintain current knowledge of products we sell and new items. * Maintain a rapport with regional managers of our clients. * Build and maintain a rapport with store level buyers. * Keep all informed of issues with stores, competitive activity, trends etc. * Maintain full distribution and display of products in assigned accounts. * Rotate stock, clean and stock display and price merchandise as appropriate. * Perform such duties as checking date codes, ensuring adherence to approved plan-o-gram. * Complete special projects as requested. Qualifications * Bachelor of Arts Degree or equivalent work experience. * A minimum of six months of relevant experience in retail (CPG industry), sales, marketing, space management and/or merchandising. * Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds. * Must have a valid driver's license and must be able to drive a car for extended periods of time. * Must be available for overnight travel. * Must be available for weekend work (demos and Food Shows). * Must be able to work nights and holidays. * Must be willing and able to work in extremely cold conditions (i.e. refrigerated and freezer sections of retail stores). * Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time. * Expertise in Microsoft software: Excel, Word and Outlook and thorough knowledge of web based applications.
