What you will do:

The Account Manager will be assigned a Sales territory and come to know it inside and out. Working collaboratively with the Outside Sales Rep (OSR), Distribution Sales Team, Q-Brands & Brand Ambassador for the territory, the incumbent sells the right product and programs to the right dealers using the full menu of QBP brands and all parts and accessories.

  • Be an expert on territory demographics, geography, events, dealer circumstances, external influences, and more. Be conscientious of themes as they develop and communicate relevant information and make recommendations to OSR and regional sales team in order to positively affect sales strategy.

  • Communicate with dealers about a full menu of products including sales initiatives, promotions, opportunities and placement of product and programs. Collaborate with OSR to determine sales strategy and identify best product mix, promotion, placement and pricing. Assess each dealer's selling performance and make recommendations based on findings. Develop, nurture and sustain relationships with dealers to create and increase sales.

  • Monitor QBP programs and competitors' programs to identify what dealers want and need. Track dealers' specialties and areas where they need assistance.

  • Meet or exceed the goals for assigned territory on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Track selling activity using pre-established methods and programs.

  • Communicate daily with OSR to have a collaborative, successful relationship. Negotiate with customers on behalf of QBP when adjusting pre-established sales agreements such as discounts, terms, and/or credit limits.

  • Meet monthly with the Regional Sales Manager to analyze and strategize monthly and annual results, goals and objectives.

  • Manage territory travel and marketing budgets.

  • Work on special projects as assigned by the Account Manager Supervisor and/or Regional Sales Manager.

  • Work with customers on behalf of QBP to address and resolve any concerns or complaints they may have.

  • Make a positive contribution to QBP's culture, share best practices with the Sales team, and learn continuously.

What you need to succeed:

  • Deep understanding of the sales process and execution of selling skills. Ability to quickly gain knowledge of QBP's product offerings, identify dealer needs and sell the right product to the right dealer at the right time.

  • 2-4 years of sales experience in the bike or outdoor industry preferred but not required.

  • Excellent relationship building skills supplemented by self-awareness and continuous self-improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, as well as the ability to interpret others by observing tone and body language.

  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to negotiate in a way that maximizes everyone's best interests.

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills along with the ability to quickly learn and use other programs.

  • Ability to travel 3-5 weeks annually. Must possess a valid driver's license and pass a driving background check annually.

  • Available to work Frostbike, Saddledrive, regional events and other events as necessary.

  • Extensive use of computers and phones.

SCOPE: Responsible for all sales and new business development activities at assigned accounts. Responsible to develop and win new business opportunities for mission-critical sensors and controls that help the customer meet the growing needs for safety, energy efficiency and clean environment. Responsible for achieving sales and share growth at customer, developing sustaining relationships with key buying influences, as well as meeting or exceeding goals set by the business. This is primarily achieved through understanding customer applications and establishing strong industry relationships with the customer at all levels. Additionally, the candidate will need to develop strategies for closing new business, and growing the Sensata portfolio across multiple divisions. This position has to be able to understand customer's business strategy/needs and translate those into opportunities for Sensata to participate. Ideal candidate will be someone with experience in Sales or Business Development in growth-oriented organizations. * <li>Manage and develop the overall customer relationship with assigned global account. * Works as primary contact for assigned account, including management, engineering, purchasing, quality, manufacturing and other areas. Manages involvement of other team members as needed. * Develop long term, strategic relationships with key buying influences at assigned accounts. * Develop strategic supply relationship with customer, targeting exclusive partner level relationship for all key product / application areas. * Leads HVOR team at customer to achieve superior supplier performance ratings. * Leads the development and is fully responsible for the deployment of the account and multi generation product plans * Partner with marketing and product management to establish and execute product roadmaps aligned with customer sourcing roadmaps and multi generation product plans * Understand decision makers and their influence on awarding business within various disciplines (Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing) * Understand competitor's strengths and weaknesses * Leads the team for the successful execution and alignment of global customer strategies and account plan * Actively develop and manage the NBO pipeline to achieve incremental content, market share and sales growth goals. * Actively manage all activities and communication related to global account within the CRM system, keeping information current and accurate at all times to benefit the organization * Performance of other duties as assigned or required. * Frequent business travel required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: * BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Business required. Masters or MBA a plus. * 1+ year experience in technical OEM sales or business development role * Experience within commercial vehicle, off-road machinery, or automotive markets preferred * Experience in powertrain systems, hydraulics or sensors applications a plus * Excellent negotiation skills * Excellent time management; self-starter * Proven leadership and/or team management experience strongly preferred * Proven aptitude with CRM systems preferred * Proven aptitude with Miller-Heiman Strategic and Conceptual Selling methodologies a plus Skills and characteristics: * Excellent oral and written communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills required. * Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with external and internal customers. * Results Orientation evidenced by having delivered outstanding performance, through strong sales performance based on clear business growth and development in various market settings and business cycles.
