At a Glance:
The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for developing long-term, trusting relationships with customers, connecting with business leaders and stakeholders throughout the process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate business/operational acumen and strategic agility to see future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies for organizational success.
Location: Houston, TX
Work Type: Hybrid. This position works hybrid (two days a week) out of H&P Houston office.

This position is expected to be filled in a work location that is within the states of Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma or Texas.
What you will do:
Identify new strategic business opportunities among existing customers by researching current accounts and responding to customer inquiries
Maintain existing accounts through effective relationship building and superior customer service
Verify and enter information into the CRM system to ensure information is disseminated to all organizational resources who need that information
Promote and support H&P's Customer Value Proposal throughout the organization
Monitor accounts receivables, assist with dispute resolution and approve concessions up to predefined limits.
Maintain and improve quality results by following standards; recommend improved policies and procedures with other members of the organization to ensure the highest quality of service is provided to the customer for the best price while ensuring the organization is profitable
Manage communications internally and externally and maintain professional image/company brand with customers and partners
Increase job knowledge by studying new product descriptions; participating in ongoing educational opportunities

What you need:
High School Diploma
10+ years experience in oil and gas industry
5+ years sales and account management experience
Excellent understanding of the Sales process - able to effectively prospect, manage pipeline, uncover customer needs/concerns, communicate benefits, demonstrate fit and negotiate the close
Strong negotiation skills - effectively explores alternatives and positions to reach outcomes that gain support and acceptance for win-win outcomes
Strategic agility - seeing ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies
Strong business, financial and analytical acumen - ability to grasp the financial complexities of the business
Strong knowledge of computers, teleconference and video conference technologies as they relate to the sales process
Organized and detail oriented - achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all involved, no matter how small
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate highly technical solutions in business-friendly terms
Proactive - able to rapidly, concisely, and aggressively identify critical issues that need to be escalated to management, resolved, and acted upon before there is an impact on the organization
Able to hit critical deadlines without exception
Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills
Strong individual initiative and ability to deliver results
Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems
Not a must, but a plus:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing or Engineering strongly preferred; combination of education and equivalent experience will be considered
10+ years sales experience strongly preferred
Experience with areas in focus of H&P's technology offerings preferred
