Position Title: Account ManagerMarmot

Location: Rohnert Park, CA

Reports To: Director, Global Sales

Summary:

This is a temp/contract position (minimum six months). The Account Manager will step in temporarily to develop, execute and drive business planning efforts to support the company's Corporate accounts & customized business customers. The account manager will be able sell to large accounts buyers, and build networks with existing clients & create new opportunities.

This position will be responsible for managing assigned accounts in liaison with internal resources. The Account Manager is responsible for overall account strategy development, seasonal account planning, general reporting and year over year business channel growth.

The person in this role should be a strong communicator and should have a clear point of view in ensuring the success of each customer. The Account Manager will be responsible for developing the product assortment strategy to support channel and customer differentiation.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and execute strategies to grow the Corporate Sales channel; including but not limited to: add on sales with each call, prospect for new business customers, log all missed product sales to track demand and research market trends.

  • Collaborate with marketing, business development and product development to develop customer-specific sales strategies, policies, annual business plans, sales forecasts (and budgets), for approval by the Director of Sales.

  • Responsible for working with the product and design teams on the development of seasonal product offerings by account.

  • Prepare analysis and reports that monitor, forecast and analyze sales activity and trends. Assess product and customer performance and profitability, (inventory replenishment requirements), and market risks and opportunities.

  • Communicate regularly with key partners within product development, marketing, business development, procurement and operations to discuss sales forecasts and develop plans to fulfill requirements for availability of product as well as sales support tools, and visual merchandising and promotional materials. Work within this group to develop mutually supportive business processes, and provide input to creative development of new products or markets.

  • Oversee daily tasks and performance of assigned resources. Account Manager will have people management responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business with an emphasis in sales and marketing, or equivalent experience

  • 7 years' sales and merchandising experience at national level, preferably in outdoor apparel industry

  • Previous experience in the development of annual business plans and budgets, sales forecasts and report, and budget management

  • Previous management experience, preferred

  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully with a variety of people

  • Exceptional influence, negotiation and selling capabilities

  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and energetic individual

  • Outstanding analytical, creative problem-solving and verbal/written communication capabilities

  • Willing to work long hours and weekends during preseason selling periods

  • Ability to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Apparel or Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) environment.
  • A passion for the Outdoor Industry and Travel/adventure.

VIEW JOBS 8/7/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-11-05T00:00 TITLE: Trim Development Specialist REPORTS TO: Raw Materials Manager Location: Rohnert Park, CA Job Summary: The Trim Development Specialist provides technical trim assistance to Design, Development and Category Manager(s) through the coordination of research and development projects for all seasonal trim items within the Outerwear and Sportswear category for Newell Brands Technical Apparel (NBTA). The Trim Development Specialist assists in setting specification and qualifying trims to execute the appropriate design interpretation, as well as, the technical performance characteristics to meet end use requirements. The Trim Development Specialist populates the fabric library with specific trim samples while supporting ongoing seasonal development of trims and kits as required. Essential Functions: * Meets regularly with the Raw Materials Manager, Category Manager(s) and Designers as assigned to stay current on most recent trim developments and sourcing directions. * Attends design hand-off meetings to review trim selection and developments per season. * Creates and maintains trim profiles/item codes following trim hand-off meetings. * Attends key merchandising and design milestone meetings to advise on the development of desired trim finishes and hand standards. * Attends key meetings/fabric fairs/expos to identify potential trims for new seasons, assists in creating seasonal trend presentations to share with design. * Works closely with developers on trim selection and identification. * Creates trim kits for specific categories as designated by design. * Reviews trim costing needs to be sure trim is adoptable and hits the right testing methods required or build into proper price for the product as directed by CM and Sr Raw materials manager. * Researches and identifies innovation opportunities for future seasons that require longer lead times. * Coordinates and leads development of new trim finish effects with vendors and the overseas fabric team including testing environments and reports. * Coordinates and leads directly with the overseas HK team and/or suppliers to research trims. * Requests color standards as needed. Initiates color standard distribution to domestic and Asian mills, and other areas when needed. * Reviews lab dips (as assigned), makes comments, interfaces with trim mills until approval process is complete, notates reference numbers. * Drafts and maintains seasonal mill card/item code trim development books with current developments and lab dip approvals. * Tracks all incoming submits of trim trials and SMS reference fabrics ensuring they hit standards. * Informs Design on any salesman sample discrepancies. * Maintains trim libraries. * Initiates greige buys for SMS and bulk production, tracks progress in partnership with HK team. * Ability to meet development calendar schedules and keep team informed on any issues. * Participate in the implementation of the new PLM system. * Inputs trim data into PIM and ensures that Fabric is accurately stated. * Collects and review trim information sheets for accuracy and adherence to PIM data. Qualifications: * A Bachelor's degree in textiles, fashion or apparel design or related field. * A minimum of 2 years of experience with trim production, preferably in the outdoor, travel, or similar apparel manufacturing industry. * Practical knowledge of related functions such as apparel design, production, sales and merchandising, and practical knowledge of product application and functionality. * Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrics, trims, mechanical and chemical treatment, and comfortable in foreign work environments. * Knowledge of textile and material construction and properties. * Knowledge of product costs. * Must have excellent color sense, ability to pass HUE 100 at elevated level. * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Demonstrated collaboration, interpersonal influence, and teamwork skills (maintains effective communication and working relationships). * Results orientation while exhibiting great creativity, energy, and resourcefulness. * Strong project planning, organizational and time management skills and a high level of initiative. * Fast, efficient, nimble.
