Job Overview

TE Connectivity has an Account Manager position available in the North America region within the Automotive Division business unit. This position is responsible for managing key customer accounts and the overall day-to-day business relationship between TE and the OEMs.

The Account Manager will report to the Sr. Manager- OEMs and will manage strategy development, promote TE products and solutions, and build and maintain customer relationships within an assigned territory. This role will work with all Automotive team members to support growth and new program launches to drive maximum penetration of TE's products and customer satisfaction. This position will operate out of our Troy, MI location for the most part.

What You will engage in:

  • Customer strategy: Understanding and influencing what drives economic value for the customer.

  • Develop customer power maps and identify decision makers.

  • Ability to analyze customer relationships; proactively identify recommendation on how to increase customer engagement and opportunities.

  • Ability to grasp our value advantage versus our competitors; garner and articulate the strength of our offerings/solutions.

  • Price Management: Understanding price points and maintaining pricing and cost models.

  • Provide accurate volume forecasting that takes into consideration market conditions.

  • Ability to lead and establish quote offers to customers and provide requested breakdowns.

  • Develop plan for customer sales meetings. Define goals for each stage within the sales cycle including concessions.

  • Ensure program timing is met by acquiring customer requirements, due dates, etc., and managing internal actions to ensure timelines are met.

  • Document all program activity via SalesForce.com system.

  • Partner with Finance to meet account receivable goals.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business Administration or Engineering

  • 2-3 years of sales or directly related experience in the Automotive Industry, preferably with Asian and/or German OEMs

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Proven skills in developing/implementing strategies with various market segments, customers, and products consistent with the overall business plan

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with various levels within the organization and to influence without direct authority

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and computer skills (i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, Word). SalesForce.com knowledge a plus.

  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics

  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely planning on next steps, and solve problems independently

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required

  • Comfort with spoken Japanese would be a bonus.

COMPENSATION

  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $65,200 - $97,800 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

  • Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

  • Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
