POSITION SUMMARY: The Account Manager is responsible for the Company’s sales and gross profit goals to include all sales within the assigned territory. Market analysis, research and the establishment of marketing and promotional activities are the required responsibilities.


  • Determines the service to be offered consistent with the company’s mission and ongoing evaluation process
  • Identifies the unique service demands each customer requires and solicits business from these customers with an open eye to expanding and maximizing service realized from each account
  • Monitors pricing and trends in the territory
  • Provides effective Customer Service in the areas of technical knowledge, quality, timeliness, shipping procedures, transactional paperwork and payment procedures
  • Monitors and controls expenditure of the territory sales and marketing function to conform to budgetary requirements
  • Establishes short-range and long-range planning of sales and marketing
  • Knows customers, competition and sales territories
  • Works with management to collect accounts receivable
  • Attends sales training and meetings


  • 5+ years of experience and/or working knowledge of the transportation & crane industry required. Experience should include responsibility for long-term customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of crane, rigging, and transportation industry
  • Experience selling to refineries, petrochemical plants, and general industrial contractors.
  • Experience selling to commercial contractors and hospital construction contractors a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business preferred but not required

The pay level assigned to this job title is WS-213. This position is responsible for operating tractor/trailers and box trucks and must be able to tailgate load. Some overnight travel will be required. Preference may be given to applicants with experience driving tractor/trailer and box trucks. Applicant must have a Class "A"-CDL license. Differs from Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator 2 by the restriction that operation of mobile cranes, draglines, pile drivers, or locomotives is only an occasional function of the Heavy Mobile Equipment Operator 1 and does not constitute the primary, regular and recurring function for this job. Examples of Work NOTE: Operation of one or more of the types of equipment enumerated must be the primary, regular and recur ring function of the job. Operates bulldozers, angle dozers, front end loaders, and/or backhoes. Operates excavator or track hoe. Operates Gradall - graders. Operates trenching machines. Operates large self propelled sweepers. Operates self propelled asphalt distribution (800 gallon or Operates striping truck. Operates motor patrol. Operates Tractor Trailer. May operate mobile cranes, draglines, pile drivers, or locomotives on an occasional basis. Verifies, on delivery, that merchandise corresponds with shipping ticket. May operate auxiliary equipment such as striping machine, rear of asphalt distribution truck, or auxiliary equipment listed for lower graded operators' jobs. May provide guidance to and oversee work of lower graded operators and laborers. May be required to operate any equipment enumerated for lower graded equipment operators when necessary to accomplish work objective. May perform incidental repair and construction tasks such as those listed for Mobile Equipment Operator 2, as required.
